ARTICLE 7<br />

PBO PROFESSIONAL AND BUSINESS OFFICE DISTRICT<br />

7.0 PURPOSE<br />

The PBO Professional and Business Office Districts are designed to accommodate and<br />

promote the availability of professional and personal services. The districts are to serve<br />

as a transition between residential and nonresidential districts. In a Professional and<br />

Business Office District, no building or land shall be used and no building shall be<br />

erected except for one or more of the following specified uses.<br />

7.1 USES PERMITTED IN THE PBO PROFESSIONAL AND BUSINESS OFFICE<br />

DISTRICTS<br />

7.1.1 Office buildings for any of the following occupations: accounting, legal,<br />

engineering, architectural or planning, clerical, and stenographic services;<br />

7.1.2 Medical or dental offices;<br />

7.1.3 Banks, credit unions, savings and loan associations;<br />

7.1.4 Personal service establishments including barber shops and beauty shops;<br />

7.1.5 Offices devoted to business management, trade associations, insurance<br />

companies, real estate, tax consultants, notary public; and,<br />

7.1.6 Day Care Facilities.<br />

7.2 CONDITIONAL USES WITH APPROVAL BY THE TOWNSHIP BOARD OF ZONING<br />

APPEALS AFTER A PUBLIC HEARING<br />

7.2.1 Single Family Dwelling Units;<br />

7.2.2 Mortuary establishments, when adequate assembly area is provided offstreet<br />

for vehicles to be used in funeral processions, provided further that<br />

such assembly area shall be provided in addition to any required off-street<br />

parking area. A caretaker’s residence may be provided within the main<br />

building of mortuary establishments;<br />

7.2.3 Publicly owned buildings, telephone exchange buildings, and public utility<br />

offices, but not including storage yards, transformer stations, or gas regulator<br />

stations; and,<br />

7.2.4 Churches, civic or charitable organizations offices.<br />

7.3 MAXIMUM HEIGHT REGULATIONS WITHIN THE PBO RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT<br />
