2.3 Accommod<strong>at</strong>ion<br />
2.3.1 ACCOMODATION ON THE <strong>MDC</strong> CAMPUS<br />
The <strong>MDC</strong> has three guesthouses:<br />
Guesthouse 8 - G<strong>at</strong>e House<br />
The G<strong>at</strong>e House has 8 rooms in apartments available, equipped with<br />
three b<strong>at</strong>hrooms <strong>and</strong> one kittchen. The room r<strong>at</strong>es per night range<br />
from 27,00 € to 35,00 €.<br />
Guesthouse 54 – Hans-Gummel-House<br />
This Building offers 15 rooms, among <strong>the</strong>m 6 single <strong>and</strong> 9 twin bed rooms.<br />
All rooms are furnished. With <strong>the</strong> exception of 3 single rooms all o<strong>the</strong>r rooms have a b<strong>at</strong>h<br />
(shower <strong>and</strong> toilet). In addition two fully equipped kitchens as well as a washing machine<br />
<strong>and</strong> dryer for common use are available.<br />
The room r<strong>at</strong>es per night range from 25,00 € to 43,00 €.<br />
Guesthouse No. 61 - Salvador-Luria-House<br />
This Guesthouse has 29 furnished rooms in 8 apartments available. Each apartment is<br />
equipped with a commonly used kitchen <strong>and</strong> <strong>at</strong> least one b<strong>at</strong>hroom.<br />
The room r<strong>at</strong>es per night range from 27,00 € to 35,00 €.<br />
All guesthouses are equipped with washing machines <strong>and</strong> dryers <strong>and</strong> are situ<strong>at</strong>ed on <strong>the</strong><br />
Campus. The price per room depends on <strong>the</strong> size of <strong>the</strong> room, <strong>and</strong> if you use it as a single or a<br />
double room. <strong>MDC</strong> can make a 25% reduction on request. If you want to reserve a room<br />
<strong>the</strong>re, please contact Mrs. Warmbrunn who manages <strong>the</strong> guesthouses.<br />

If you have reserved a room you will find your key after arrival <strong>at</strong> <strong>the</strong> porter’s entrance (main<br />
entrance to <strong>the</strong> <strong>MDC</strong>-Campus) in <strong>the</strong> Robert-Rössle-Straße 10. Here you receive an envelope<br />
with your name on it <strong>and</strong> useful inform<strong>at</strong>ion. You can stay in a guesthouse up to six month<br />
after arrival to <strong>the</strong> <strong>MDC</strong>.<br />
Please leave your room in an acceptable st<strong>at</strong>e <strong>and</strong> do not leave any personal belongings.<br />
2.3.2 LOOKING FOR ACCOMMODATION IN BERLIN<br />
Looking for inexpensive accommod<strong>at</strong>ion in Germany can be difficult <strong>and</strong> time-consuming,<br />
especially in big cities <strong>and</strong> university towns. If you do not have <strong>the</strong> opportunity to look for<br />
accommod<strong>at</strong>ion before you start your fellowship, you should consider staying in one of <strong>the</strong><br />
<strong>MDC</strong>-guesthouses for <strong>the</strong> first few weeks. The research group you are going to join will help<br />
