Chapter L: <strong>Registration</strong><br />

OREGON TRAIL PLATES<br />

The entire stock <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oregon</strong> Trail Plates has been exhausted. <strong>Oregon</strong> Trail plates already issued may be<br />

renewed. No surcharge is required for renewal or when the plates are transferred.<br />

If the customer wants to replace <strong>Oregon</strong> Trail plates, advise them that <strong>Oregon</strong> Trail plates are no longer<br />

available <strong>and</strong> <strong>of</strong>fer them the other plate options available for the type <strong>of</strong> vehicle they have.<br />

SALMON PLATES<br />

The 1997 <strong>Oregon</strong> Legislature approved issuance <strong>of</strong> the salmon background plate. A salmon plate surcharge<br />

is collected each time the plates are issued or renewed. The surcharge is NOT collected when replacing a<br />

Salmon plate with another Salmon plate.<br />

If a customer wants salmon plates, write “Salmon” in the “Special<br />

Plates” box <strong>of</strong> the application. Refer to Chapter N for fees.<br />

The vehicle types eligible for salmon plates are:<br />

• Passenger<br />

• Ham passenger<br />

• Custom passenger<br />

There is a $15 surcharge<br />

per plate ($30 per set) in<br />

addition to the regular<br />

plate fee for Salmon<br />

Plates.<br />

CRATER LAKE PLATES<br />

The 2001 <strong>Oregon</strong> Legislature approved issuance <strong>of</strong> the Crater Lake background plate. This surcharge is<br />

collected when the plates are issued. The surcharge is NOT collected when replacing a Crater Lake plate with<br />

another Crater Lake plate or when renewing a Crater Lake plate.<br />

If a customer wants Crater Lake plates, write “Crater Lake” in the<br />

“Special Plates” box <strong>of</strong> the application. Refer to Chapter N for fees.<br />

The vehicle types eligible for Crater Lake plates are:<br />

• Passenger<br />

• Ham passenger<br />

• Custom passenger<br />

There is a $10 surcharge<br />

per plate ($20 per set) in<br />

addition to the regular<br />

plate fee for Crater Lake<br />

Plates.<br />
