CAIRO, March 22 (AKnews) - The Speaker
of the Arab Parliament Ali al-Daqbasi said
today that he will take part in the
upcoming Arab summit in Baghdad later
this month to discuss a permanent Arab
parliament.
Baghdad Operations Command, which
reports directly to Shiite Prime Minister
Nouri al-Maliki, rejected the allegation
and said he had died of a kidney illness. It
also pledged to show all the medical
documents that prove so.
Al-Daqbasi said he will head a delegation
of four members of the Arab Parliament
to come to the summit, which is “one of
the most important summits in particular
as it follows the Arab nations' uprisings
against oppression”.
Mr Amin said the Ministry of Human
Rights is expecting to receive the results of
an autopsy from the forensic department
to find out whether the guard was
tortured.
He said, though, that initial reports
indicate the man had kidney issues. “We
will announce the results as soon as they
are out”

Arab Parliament Speaker to
participate in Baghdad summit
The delegation will seek “a decision by the
Arab leaders to make the Arab Parliament
permanent so that it can practice its right
to legislate unified Arab laws”.
“But we don't want a permanent
parliament to be just another organization
to be added to other Arab institutions. We
want it to be making decisions that are
mandatory on all [concerned]," added Al-
Daqbasi.
“We find it necessary for the Arab League
to be restructured in a way that protects
people and represents them as well
instead of representing only the rulers.”
