MISSION<br />

Contribute to a healthy <strong>Alberta</strong> and<br />

healthy <strong>Alberta</strong>ns by:<br />

− Engaging <strong>Alberta</strong>ns in making the injury<br />

issue a priority.<br />

− Reducing the frequency and severity of<br />

injuries in <strong>Alberta</strong>.<br />

− Reducing the impact of and improving the<br />

outcomes <strong>for</strong> those affected by injury.<br />

The mission emphasizes the priority areas of focus. <strong>Alberta</strong>ns are expected to<br />

embrace injury as an issue that warrants priority attention and action. Injuries<br />

are to be reduced in both their frequency and their severity by effective<br />

preventative initiatives. When injuries occur, those who are affected; the<br />

injured individuals, their families and others, are expected to receive quality<br />

treatment and rehabilitation. These three areas drive the strategic goals that<br />

follow.<br />
