• The beefing up of nurses in all clinics to ensure that every person that<br />
needs their services is attended to in time.<br />
• The establishment of ‘A’ level schools in the constituency to ensure<br />
that pupils go further than the ordinary level. There is also a need to<br />
establish secondary schools in ward 35, and a primary school in ward<br />
35 to ensure government policy of near and accessible education.<br />
• The Increase in the number of operational self-reliance projects in<br />
almost all wards to ensure that the residents help themselves in<br />
reducing poverty, in as much as economically empowering the youth<br />
and women. Most of the projects in the constituency are however<br />
owned by women while the greater number is comprised by groups<br />
and cooperatives.<br />
• Gender mainstreaming in local governance. Of the 14 wards, only 2<br />
wards, i.e. wards 15 and 26 have a female councillor, depicting that<br />
women are still lagging behind in decision making. They constitute only<br />
14% of the total ward seats.
