Makoni West constituency is made up of fourteen wards. Like most constituencies, the ward councillor’s seats are dominated by males. Females constitute only 14% of the total ward seats in the Makoni West constituency. The constituency has 40 695 registered voters. There is at least a primary school in each ward, and every ward has at least a secondary school save for ward 35 which does not have any schools. Most wards have more than 1 school and there is an even distribution of health facilities and dip tanks. However projects sponsored by the Ministry of Youth, Gender and Employment Creation (Ministry of Gender) are absent in 6 wards of the constituency, thus, there is need to also economically empower the residents of wards without these projects by making ensuring that they can also access the funds.

There are 6 primary schools and 2 secondary schools in the ward. The ward has 2 health facilities and 7 business centres. There is 1 project being funded by the Ministry of Gender. Education: The primary schools in ward 12 are known asChironga, Chitsva, Domboreshato, Mubvurungwa, Muporeri and St Columbus. The secondary schools are Chitsva and Chiundu. Chitsva has a total enrolment of 288 of which 131 are girls, lower than the 157 of boys. Chiundu has a total enrolment of 725 and 338 are girls. Health Facilities: The ward has two health facilities known as Mabvurungwa and Tandi. Both are clinics. Gender Project: There is only one operational project in the ward which deals in poultry and is owned by a female.
