PROBLEM:
2007 Chevrolet Tahoe “ServiceEngine Soon” warning
l lamp
on with P0171, P0174
DIRECT-HIT DIAGNOSTIC STEPS:
1. Verify the fuel pressure is 50-60 PSI. If the pressure is low, verify
the fuel pump has a good power supply on the Gray wire and a
good ground on the Black wire.
2. Check for wire harness damage from being routed too close to the
front driveshaft.
3. Using the scan tool Fuel Trim parameters, disconnect the Mass Air
flow Sensor. If the Fuel Trim values return to normal, check for any
unmetered air leaks.
4. Block off the PCV tube and the brake booster hose. If the numbers
return to normal, check for air leaks in either of those areas. Refer
to TSB 08-06-04-016.
5. Inspect for injector wires being connected to the wrong injectors
per TSB 06-06-04-001A.
CONFIRMED FIX:
Replace the fuel pump (old one had only 45 PSI )
