Stamens 5, in all but 2 species borne on a well developed gynophore;<br />

sepals 5; petals (if present) 5.<br />

Gynophore straight; stamens free from their tips to the gynophore;<br />

styles 3 1. Passiflora.<br />

Gynophore curved; stamens united beyond the gynophore, only<br />

their tips free; styles 4 2. Tetrastylis.<br />

Stamens 8 or 10, inserted on the floor of the calyx; sepals and petals<br />

4, rarely 5.<br />

Styles distinct to the base; sepals from the first free nearly to the<br />

base, the calyx very small 3. Mitostemma.<br />

Styles united below the middle; sepals at first more or less united<br />
