long as 90 minutes. To force Group Policy to take effect immediately on a Windows XP<br />

computer, type the command gpupdate/target: computer .<br />

NOTE<br />

On a Windows 2000 client, group policy update is forced by using the secedit/<br />

refreshpolicy command.<br />

Once you have forced a refresh of group policy, you can confirm if the computer<br />

certificate is successfully installed. To confirm the installation of the computer certificate:<br />

1. Type the command mmc and click OK from Start | Run .<br />

2. Click File in the MMC console menu, and then click Add/Remove Snap-in .<br />

3. Click Add in the Add/Remove Snap-in dialog box. Then, select Certifi cates<br />

from the list of snap-ins and check Add . You will be prompted to choose which<br />

certificate store the snap-in will be used to manage.<br />
