About 53.0 percent of queued capacity is from natural gas projects. Some of<br />

these queued generator interconnection requests are duplicative, since more<br />

than one point of injection into the system is being evaluated. Also, this<br />

additional capacity may be used to serve <strong>Pennsylvania</strong> customers or out-of-state<br />

customers. See Figure 3.5. Appendix A provides the status of generator<br />

interconnection requests located in <strong>Pennsylvania</strong>.<br />

The generating capacity located in <strong>Pennsylvania</strong> totals 51,135 MW. 37 As<br />

stated earlier, the output of some of these facilities may serve loads outside of<br />

<strong>Pennsylvania</strong>. The state’s demand is about 30,000 MW. See Figure 3.6.<br />

Appendix B lists the existing power plants located in <strong>Pennsylvania</strong>.<br />
