Become a part of the city’s biggest and best festival.
When you join the Fiesta ® Commission, you become part of a proud 122-year-old tradition celebrating San
Antonio’s culture and diversity. One of the largest events in Texas, Fiesta ® started out with a single parade in
1891. Now we draw 3.5 million people annually to 11 event packed days of fun. This celebration of the heroes
of the battles of the Alamo and San Jacinto hosts 100+ events promoting the heritage, culture and spirit of San
Antonio.
Over 100 nonprofit organizations work to put on the events of Fiesta ® . Many of these nonprofits are able to
raise their operating budgets for the entire year through Fiesta ® . Your membership gives you greater access to
all the fun while helping others in our community.
Your peers in the Commission include small businesses, nonprofits, large corporations, volunteer groups,
families and individuals. There are many benefits to being a part of the Fiesta ® Commission. As an Individual
Member, you share your passion for our city with other San Antonians at special social events. As a Business
Member, you have the opportunity to share your pride with tens of thousands of potential customers. Of course,
one of the best benefits is being surrounded by so many smiling, happy faces!
Colorful medals are a hallmark of San Antonio’s Fiesta ® .
Said to have began with King Antonio XLIX, Charles G.
Orsinger in 1971, Fiesta ® medals trace back even earlier
to commemorative coins given out at events.
Today, nearly every organization involved with Fiesta ®
issues a unique creation annually, and collecting as
many as possible each year has become a playful
tradition all its own. This year, when someone asks
“who’s got the most Fiesta ® medals?” ITC’s exhibition
of past and present Fiesta ® medals will surely top the
list! Free with museum admission.
