<strong>NSW</strong> <strong>Government</strong> Action<br />

Plan for Women<br />

The <strong>SMDA</strong> supports the <strong>NSW</strong><br />

<strong>Government</strong> Action Plan for Women<br />

and promotes workplaces that<br />

are equitable, safe and responsive<br />

to all aspects of women’s lives.<br />

It also promotes the position of<br />

women in all areas of society as<br />

well as access to and successful<br />

outcomes for women in all parts of<br />

the education and training system.<br />

Occupational Health & Safety<br />

Management Plan<br />

The <strong>SMDA</strong> is committed to the<br />

occupational heath, safety and welfare<br />

of its employees, those contracted to<br />

perform work on its behalf and visitors<br />

to the premises. It is committed to<br />

regular consultation with staff and<br />

their representatives and, w<strong>here</strong><br />

necessary, with contractors and<br />

suppliers of equipment and services<br />

to ensure OH&S management<br />

is of the highest standard.<br />

<strong>SMDA</strong> had 0 (zero) injuries or claims<br />

under the OH&S Act 2000.<br />

Privacy and personal information<br />

The <strong>SMDA</strong> was committed to the<br />

implementation of the Privacy and<br />

Personal Information Act 1998 (PIPPA)<br />

and ad<strong>here</strong>d to the requirements of<br />

the Act in its operations.<br />

Public Interest Disclosure<br />

During the reporting period, no public<br />

interest disclosures were:<br />

made by public officials to the <strong>SMDA</strong>;<br />

––<br />

received by the <strong>SMDA</strong>;<br />

––<br />

finalised by the <strong>SMDA</strong><br />

The <strong>SMDA</strong> has an internal public<br />

interest disclosures policy in place<br />

and staff have been made aware of<br />

this policy.<br />

Waste Reduction and<br />

Purchasing Policy<br />

The <strong>SMDA</strong> is committed to<br />

the implementation of the<br />

<strong>Government</strong>’s Waste Reduction<br />

and Purchasing Policy (WRAPP).<br />

<strong>SMDA</strong> engages the services of<br />

an environmental management<br />

company through the <strong>NSW</strong><br />

<strong>Government</strong> contract to manage the<br />

recycling of paper and cardboard.<br />

<strong>SMDA</strong> also recycles toner and ink<br />

cartridges, and purchases recycled<br />

paper for printing purposes.<br />

<strong>Government</strong> Information Public<br />

Access Act 2009 (GIPA Act)<br />

During the reporting period, the <strong>SMDA</strong><br />

reviewed information which could<br />

be proactively made available to the<br />

public free of charge w<strong>here</strong> t<strong>here</strong> is<br />

no overriding public interest against<br />

public disclosure of such information.<br />

As a result of the review, the <strong>SMDA</strong><br />

<strong>SMDA</strong> because the application was<br />

for the disclosure of information<br />

w<strong>here</strong> t<strong>here</strong> is a conclusive<br />

presumption of overriding public<br />

interest against disclosure; and<br />

no applications for an internal<br />

review of a determined application<br />

for information were received.<br />
