CFMEU Delegates to meet monthly in 2013
Throughout 2013 all CFMEU
Delegates will be required to meet
regularly on a monthly basis.
“Delegate meetings are common
place in other states and it’s time we
got back to doing the same here”,
says CFMEU State Secretary Mick
Buchan. “The monthly meetings will
give everyone a forum to exchange
workplace issues and ideas as well
as co-ordinate campaigns and the
like. It’s about getting back to good
old-fashioned organising and
placing a value on being a Delegate
representing the CFMEU members
in their workplace.”
Treasury
Building
delegate Mal
Peters, looking
forward to
delegate
meetings in
2013.
Meetings will take place at the
Construction Skills Training Centre,
107 Radium Street, Welshpool, on
the last Wednesday of each Month
at 7.30am sharp. (Not including
January or December). All meeting
dates are on the 2013 RDO
calendar.
MEETING DATES:
Put them in your diary
now and be there.
The mining sector is booming in Australia and generating considerable wealth. The
CFMEU is committed to campaign for government policies that spread the benefits
of the boom more widely. Policies that support the creation of more jobs in
manufacturing, that give Australian workers priority on new construction jobs and
that help mining communities get the amenities and infrastructure they deserve.
The 2012 CFMEU National Conference marks the launch of a campaign involving all three
of our divisions that seeks to protect the jobs and improve the lives of CFMEU members.
The goal of our campaign is to open up the economic debate in the run up to the next federal election.
We want to change the policies of the main political parties so they:
• are more pro-manufacturing
• protect the jobs, pay and conditions of Australian construction workers
• improve the livability of mining communities.
