TAMWORTH VOLLEYBALL CLUB
Junior Development Programme
Tamworth VC is a long established successful
volleyball club that competes at a local and regional
level. In early 2008 they decided to develop
a junior section of the club in order to allow
young people to learn a new sport, develop
and play in a quality assured environment.
Through the hard work of the club’s committee
and the formation of key partnerships the
club has been able to set up a Junior Academy
that began operating in October 2008.
OBJECTIVES
• Tamworth VC set out the following objectives
for setting up a junior club section:
• To engage the Tamworth SSP and other key
partners to deliver volleyball inside and outside
of the curriculum contributing towards
the 5 hour offer
• To attract funding to allow the club to put
into place a development plan that would
ensure the club had the capacity and structure
to be able to deal with the new membership
• To establish a junior club and facilitate competition
at a local level with a view to progressing
into regional festivals
ACHIEVEMENTS
grant of £9,000
