From the editor This week’s 2011 Wrest Point State League is full of potentially close tussles. Clarence versus North Hobart and Lauderdale versus North Launceston should both shape the finals series. A couple of regional derbies in the north of the state should also be worth the entrance fee. Finally, the southern Magpies and the Tigers are both desperate to get a win to re-ignite their seasons. The RECORD is reflecting on the culmination of the 2011 Tasmanian Football Hall of Fame celebration with the announcement of a new ‘Icon’ of Tasmanian football: Rodney Eade. More than 500 members of the football family attended the gala induction ceremony at Wrest Point last evening. The View From Here, Our Great Game and State of Affairs all review the most important recognition program in Tasmanian football. In the coming weeks we will feature Tasmania’s U18 and U16 National Championship teams which are battling to retain titles secured last year. The U18s completed their program on Thursday after we went to press. Victory against Queensland would ensure Tasmania lifts consecutive titles for the first time.
