and performance of art. It is a catalyst for an arts
community in Hallandale Beach that serves to
enrich, educate and entertain the community.
Opening in the summer of 2009 as a community
based cultural center, the Palms Center for the
Arts provides for creative and innovative projects
of local, state and national artists with a corridor
of student art-at-work projects and instruction
in dance, drama/theatre, jazz and marching
band, African drumming/dance, guitar, piano,
voice, recording engineering, art, graphic
design, at-risk arts education, arts-at-work job
training programs and so much more.
Technology Center
Need to check the local news? Are you looking
for that important e-mail? Just want to browse
the Internet or catch up on some work? The
Florida League of Cities Technology Center
provides you the perfect place to do all that
with eight PCs and staff to assist you. Please note
that children must be supervised while in this
area.

Wireless Internet access is available in the
general meeting areas to conference attendees
by using the access code 0653FC.
Voting Delegates – Business Session
The annual Business Session will begin at 9:00
a.m. on Saturday, August 13, for consideration
of officer and board of director elections,
committee reports, resolutions and other
business.
Each municipality was asked to designate a
voting delegate. Officials may check at the
FLC registration desk to confirm these names.
Delegates should sit in the “Voting Delegates”
section of the Business Session to ensure the
voting process is conducted as smoothly as
possible.
Press Room
A press room will be available on Thursday,
August 11 from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.; Friday,
August 12 from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.; and
Saturday, August 13 from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
in the Boston Room.
Saturday Night Childcare
Childcare services will be available on Saturday,
August 13, from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. during
the FLC Arts Festival. This service, provided by the
League through Sitter Solutions, will be offered at
no charge, but pre-registration is required.
The League will provide pizza, popcorn and
drinks. Sitter Solutions will provide quality
childcare with loads of activities and games.
Toys will be provided for younger children, as
well as videos for quiet time. Pillows and blankets
will also be available.
