Ma<strong>in</strong> focus of this publication is placed on describ<strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong> illustrat<strong>in</strong>g a wide<br />
range of greywater management options to facilitate <strong>in</strong>formed decision-mak<strong>in</strong>g when<br />
confronted with the task of develop<strong>in</strong>g a sanitation concept. This document is not a<br />
design manual for greywater management systems, although design pr<strong>in</strong>ciples <strong>and</strong><br />
construction plans of treatment cha<strong>in</strong>s are provided whenever possible.<br />
The report ma<strong>in</strong>ly aims at sensitis<strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong> encourag<strong>in</strong>g national, regional <strong>and</strong><br />
municipal water <strong>and</strong> environmental sanitation authorities <strong>and</strong> agencies to <strong>in</strong>tegrate<br />
greywater management <strong>in</strong>to their development policies <strong>and</strong> programmes. NGOs<br />
<br />
greywater management <strong>in</strong>to their neighbourhood upgrad<strong>in</strong>g projects. This report<br />
will hopefully support them <strong>in</strong> their efforts <strong>and</strong> provide assistance to house owners<br />
<br />
requirements <strong>and</strong> prior to solicit<strong>in</strong>g expert advice.<br />
