Year 11
Step Out In Style
n a m a z i n g e v e n i n g
celebrating our Year 11
Astudents' last five years at
school was held on June 24th at the
Village Hotel in Leeds. Students
arrived at the hotel in style – stretch
limousines and Hummers, sports
cars, a camper van, and a delivery
van with 'special delivery' on the
front to name but a few.
All the students looked amazing. The
girls were very glamorous in their
prom dresses and the boys very
dapper in their suits and tuxedos.
The event was attended by 192
students and in excess of 60
members of staff. The evening
kicked off with the Year 11 band
called 'Sprayed Aces' who got
everyone in the mood to dance. It
was a fun-filled evening with a buffet,
dancing and amusing awards
presented to the students. The finale
of the evening was the crowning of
the Prom King and Queen, Harry
Wainwright and Lucinda Layfield.
Mrs Symons who has been a Year 11
tutor for several years is retiring this
summer and was presented with a
leaving gift to say thank you for the
dedicated support she has given to
both students and staff over the
years.
Mr Collins, Progress Leader for KS4
said, 'It was wonderful to see the
students looking so smart and
enjoying themselves. It is a great way
to celebrate the last five years and
surviving the examinations. It was a
fabulous evening which will be a
great memory to all those who
attended. Best wishes to all Year 11
students for the results day and for
next year as they move onto the next
stage of their career, whether it be in
th
the 6 form at Horsforth School, at
local colleges or working.’
