SPORTS ROUND UP Continued
Year 7 Cricket
The Year 7 cricket team has got off to a good start to their
Horsforth careers. After a slow start to the season the
team has had some good wins over Allerton and Abbey
Grange. There have been several stand out performers
so far with Danny Taylor contributing heavily with both
bat and ball, and Alex Wiggan, Tom Colley and Luke
Townend who have all performed consistently well. It
would be great to see more Year 7 boys at training to
emulate the world cup winning England cricket team!!
Year 8 Cricket
The Year 8 cricket team has had a mixed start to the
season. The two games they have played have
resulted in two losses despite some good
performances. The game against Morley at home
was an absolute classic going to the last over. Top
performers have been Harry Jeavons and Tom
Nixon with the ball and Danny Taylor from Year 7
with the bat. Well done to everyone!.

Earlier this year in March, as reported in the
Spring Newsletter, Year 9 students took part in a
World Record attempt to produce the largest ever
simultaneous, interactive weather report. Mrs
Hazell is pleased to report that we succeeded in
our mission and Horsforth School are officially
part of the BBC School Report's first ever entry
into the Guinness Book of World Records. We've
been sent a certificate as proof of our
achievement and well done to everyone involved
on the day. We are certainly looking forward to the
excitement of News Report next year.
