Mission Statement The mission of the Tucson Jewish Community Center is to cultivate and enrich Jewish identity, ensure Jewish continuity, foster wellness, and broaden communal harmony. Bringing the Energy of the “J” to the Community Moving • Punk Rope and Zumba classes were added to the already impressive number of free classes offered to members. • Membership numbers continued strong due in part to the popularity of Silver Sneakers, and also the more than 600 new individuals and families who joined. Playing • The Youth Lounge came to life offering kids in grades 6-12 state-of-theart computers, electronic systems and games, and a great place to hang out. • The annual B’sghetti Bash fundraiser continued to be a strength from both the financial aspect as well as the volunteer support. Learning • SeniorNet offered computer classes geared toward seniors, which included significant upgrades to the JCC computer lab. • Early Childhood Education expanded the supplemental afternoon enrichment classes, enhancing the opportunities for the children in the program. Connecting • Young Jewish Tucson joined the JCCA Gesher City Network online allowing them to stay connected to other young Jewish adults in Tucson and across the country. • Thirty-one personal listening devices were added to all of the aerobic machines in the fitness center. Members can now enjoy the four new 42” plasma televisions with sound, or simply listen to music.
