Our Customer Service Units deliver a repair and grounds maintenance reporting
facility and arrange appointments for housing and transfer applicants. Units are in
place in regional offices to administer housing benefit and rent accounting
functions. Armagh District Office continues to provide key services such as housing,
homelessness including hostel services, response maintenance, estate
management, community development and partnerships.
In response to Welfare Reform proposals we are preparing our staff to give housing
advice and assistance to all tenants impacted by this legislation. We are also
piloting an online mutual exchange scheme ‘Homeswapper’ which allows tenants to
advertise their home and look for a suitable swap in their areas of choice.
In South Region we reduced rent arrears to £4.996 million by March 2013, falling short
of the target of £4.871 million. Rent arrears for Armagh City and District were
£124,947 at March 2013.
