The URI Campus. URI is located in the historic village of Kingston, close to the ocean and major beaches. The<br />
1,200-acre rural campus is a handsome mix of ivy-covered buildings and contemporary architecture. Just 30 minutes<br />
south of Providence, URI is within easy reach of Newport, Boston and New York City by car or public transportation.<br />
The Students. Our 11,277 undergraduates and 2,921 graduate students come from all over the country and world.<br />
45% of students come from Rhode Island, 34% from either New York, New Jersey, or Massachusetts, and 10% from<br />
Connecticut. The gender make-up at URI is 56% female, 44% male.<br />
The Faculty. The University's 716 faculty members are drawn from across the country and throughout the world.<br />
With a student-to-faculty ratio of 17.5-1, URI offers you personal attention, as well as the resources of a large research<br />
university.<br />
Centennial Scholarships. Incoming freshman with exceptional grades and supporting standardized test scores are<br />
eligible for consideration for academic scholarships with values up to full tuition if their applications are completed by<br />
the early action deadline of December 15th.<br />
ECHA<br />
Established in 1991, the Eastern Collegiate Hockey Association (ECHA) is enjoying its eleventh<br />
successful year of collegiate ice hockey competition and has grown from five to ten teams. The<br />
ECHA is comprised of teams from:<br />

Duquesne University<br />
University of Scranton<br />
Lehigh University<br />
Towson University<br />
United States Naval Academy Villanova University<br />
Rutgers University<br />
West Chester University<br />
During its ten year tenure, the league has consistently had member teams ranked in the top ten<br />
ACHA National rankings. This past year, the ECHA sent Towson and Drexel to the national<br />
tournament<br />
