an international interdisciplinary student conference<br />
Description:<br />
European <strong>post</strong>-<strong>communist</strong> <strong>countries</strong> had to deal with new challenges <strong>of</strong> landscape development, transitions or<br />
degradation.<br />
Spatial landscape structure expresses <strong>the</strong> combination <strong>of</strong> physical, functional and socio economic components that<br />
are changing composition and arrangement over time. While <strong>the</strong> principles <strong>of</strong> human society quickly adapted, spatial<br />
structures are developing inertial.<br />
All questions must be answered by multidisciplinary, progressive sustainable and innovative design strategies with <strong>the</strong><br />
support <strong>of</strong> applied research and <strong>the</strong>oretical studies.<br />
We invite all PhD and Master students interested in presenting <strong>the</strong>ir ongoing research and results in fields related to<br />
<strong>the</strong> topic and address issues related to recent history, <strong>the</strong> present and future <strong>of</strong> urban, periurban and rural landscapes<br />
in <strong>post</strong>-<strong>communist</strong> European <strong>countries</strong>. <br />
Emphasis will be placed on international and interdisciplinary dialogue from academic and pr<strong>of</strong>essional<br />
perspectives <strong>of</strong> <strong>post</strong> <strong>communist</strong> landscape <strong>transformations</strong> including landscape architecture, architecture,<br />
urbanism, engineering, landscape ecology, social ecology, public policy and economics.<br />
Goals <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> conference are first to present and discuss recent knowledge and findings <strong>of</strong> various student projects and<br />
<strong>the</strong>sis. Second, increase collaboration and information exchange between pr<strong>of</strong>essions that has landscape as a<br />
common ground and third to develop a trans-disciplinary framework <strong>of</strong> cause and effect relationships that influence<br />
landscape stability and sustainability for <strong>the</strong> future.<br />

Submission <strong>of</strong> Abstract Procedure<br />
The deadline for submission <strong>of</strong> abstract is August 10, 2013.<br />
A template for submission <strong>of</strong> abstract is available on <strong>the</strong> website.<br />
Abstracts will receive double blind peer review.<br />
Following successful review, <strong>the</strong> date for submission <strong>of</strong> final written paper or <strong>post</strong>er is September 20, 2013.<br />
Full paper or <strong>post</strong>er will be submitted by September 20 with no fur<strong>the</strong>r peer review. Papers will typically be no more<br />
than 3000 words in presentation.<br />
Papers will be invited to make twenty minutes presentation in <strong>the</strong>med sessions. Session schedule will be announced<br />
at <strong>the</strong> beginning <strong>of</strong> September.<br />
Conference Publications<br />
All revised abstracts submitted in written form by September 20, 2013 will be published in printed and downloadable<br />
format toge<strong>the</strong>r with keynote speeches in reviewed conference proceedings and on <strong>the</strong> conference website.<br />
