4.4.3 Cleaning procedures<br />

<strong>Butler</strong> <strong>University</strong> will establish regular schedules for cleaning of restrooms, surfaces and items that<br />

are likely to have frequent hand contact such as desks, door knobs, keyboards, or counters.<br />

Method of Operation<br />

Use of identified cleaning chemicals/products to<br />

kill viruses leading to the spread of flu strands or<br />

norovirus.<br />

Additional responsibilities for Director of Housekeeping:<br />

• Maintain adequate supply of hand sanitizer stations throughout campus for use, locations to<br />

be determined by the vice president of operations.<br />

• Work to ensure all housekeeping staff is equipped with adequate PPE (Personal Protection<br />

Equipment) and trained in its use.<br />

• Oversee storage and disposal of medical and non-medical wastes throughout campus.<br />

• Consult a third party vendor for contacted housekeeping in case of staff contacting flu-like<br />

symptoms, causing widespread absences.<br />

4.4.4 Food Services protocols<br />

<strong>Butler</strong> <strong>University</strong> will follow pre-establish protocols for food service during a pandemic emergency<br />

on campus.<br />

Method of Operation<br />

Dean of Student Services would work with<br />

Aramark to cease self-service food stations to<br />

mitigate spread of virus.<br />

Additional protocols on food service may include:<br />

• Food service delivery if warranted to identified students.<br />

• Limited hours of operations to reduce spread of virus.<br />

• Warning signs and additional hand sanitizer stations established.<br />

4.5 Campus Housing Isolation Protocols<br />

The dean of Student Services will establish influenza-like isolation protocols on an annual basis to be<br />

included in the pandemic emergency plan.<br />
