6.2.12 What if my cell phone is off when an emergency notification goes out?<br />
It is important to list a local phone number in case your cell phone is not operational.<br />
6.2.13 How often will I receive messages?<br />
You will receive a message anytime there is an emergency. The <strong>University</strong> also plans to conduct a full test<br />
of the system once each semester. However, the <strong>University</strong> reserves the right to conduct additional testing<br />
based on upgrades to the systems. The campus community will be notified about tests before they are<br />
conducted.<br />
6.2.14 Will I receive information other than emergency alerts and weather-related emergencies,<br />
delays and closings?<br />
No. Currently, the <strong>University</strong> only intends to use the notification system for emergency situations and<br />
weather-related emergencies, delays and closings.<br />
6.2.15 What steps are taken to ensure the information I submit is secure?<br />
The contact information submitted is protected by multiple layers of physical and technological security.<br />
Access to that data is limited to authorized <strong>University</strong> staff in the <strong>Butler</strong>’s police department, Information<br />
Resources and <strong>University</strong> Relations.<br />
