Structure of the Programme
The programme is a two­year full­time study. Students should accumulate at
least 60 credit units with the following distribution in order to be eligible for an
Associate of Science in Information Systems Development award.

Programme Curriculum on the Essential and Specialized Courses
This programme equips students with the skills needed to design and develop
computer­based solutions for business. It prepares students to work in the
business, engineering, web design, as well as media computing environment. It
enables students to identify, analyse and solve problems by producing effective
computer solutions. The essential skills include being able to understand the
nature of the business requirement, selecting the appropriate software/hardware
platform, developing Internet applications and interactive computer media, and
utilising and supporting the networked facilities in co­operation with the end­user to
produce effective solutions.
Basic knowledge of computing is not assumed for studying in this programme.
Students from science, commerce and arts backgrounds are welcome to apply.
The programme focuses on the design and construction of information systems
which meet the needs of clients. The software system should be robust,
maintainable, reliable, economic and cost­effective as standalone or in networked
