Objectives
Aims
The programme aims to provide students with sound practical knowledge of
computing fundamentals and a thorough understanding of ethical and quality
issues, management and planning skills that are associated with the computing
profession. These allow the students to grow with and adapt to new
technological developments in a practical environment. Graduates of the
programme will be able to develop quality software and reliable business
application systems. They will be able to function in these capacities
independently or as a team player. The programme also equips students with
the academic foundation required for articulation into bachelor degree studies.
Objectives
The program objectives are to:
1. develop students’ proficiency in computer programming and networking,
quality awareness, project management, communication skills and team
work, and inculcate in them the attitude of professional ethics and
approach to problem solving as well as general awareness of health and
safety.
2. develop a range of information technology transferable skills to prepare
students for general employment for a broad range of careers in
commercial, industrial, engineering and media computing;
3. apply proven methods, tools and techniques to the effective and efficient
development and implementation of reliable information systems in a
business environment;
