Course Highlights<br />
Students will enjoy innovative<br />
teaching methods including online<br />
delivery of subjects. Gaining<br />
professional experience in schools<br />
is integral for education students<br />
at JCU and commences in the<br />
first year of study. This involves<br />
practical work in schools and a<br />
variety of other educational sites<br />
in rural and remote locations as<br />
well as wider community settings.<br />

the opportunity to travel and<br />

Primary<br />
Course Highlights<br />

Primary – Special Needs<br />
Course Highlights<br />
Special Needs teachers work with<br />
children with learning difficulties<br />
to improve a broad range of<br />
skills including self awareness,<br />
life skills, literacy and numeracy.<br />
This program focuses on years<br />
1-7 and develops a range of skills<br />
to support students with special<br />
needs in primary school settings.<br />
Middle School<br />
Course Highlights<br />
Students in the middle phase of<br />
learning have distinctive and diverse<br />
needs. This course focuses on<br />
teaching years 4-9 and graduates<br />
are equipped to teach across a<br />
range of curriculum areas in both<br />
primary and secondary schools.<br />
Secondary<br />
Course Highlights<br />
Secondary Education focuses<br />
on students who are 12 to 18<br />
years old. This involves practical<br />
work in schools and a variety of<br />

health and physical education<br />
to either years 1 - 7 (Primary) or<br />
years 8 - 12 (Secondary). Students<br />
studying these majors study with<br />
JCU’s well-equipped Institute of<br />
Sport and Exercise Science.<br />
Bachelor of<br />
Psychology<br />
Accredited by the Australian<br />
Psychology Accreditation Council<br />
(APAC), this four-year course<br />
allows graduates to apply for<br />
provisional registration with the<br />
Psychology Board of Australia.<br />
Students of psychology can<br />
specialise in a broad range<br />
of areas to become either<br />
professional or academic<br />
psychologists.<br />
This course can be taken jointly<br />
with the Bachelor of Business.<br />
