Business Advertisers Needed Dear Parents, It is time to begin planning for our 2010-2011 Student/Parent Orientation Folders. These folders include important information along with the school calendar and early release dates. These folders are prepared at no cost to the school, by BG Enterprises, a well-respected company that serves many schools in the Volusia County School District and has been servicing our school for over 20 years. This company will solicit advertisements from our local community to cover the printing costs. If you are involved in a business that would enjoy high advertisement visibility among families with school age children, please let me know, so that I may give your name to Ms. Diane Grathwohl, our ad representative. I do not want to overlook anyone who is interested in being represented in the 2010-2011 Orientation Folders, but ad space is limited, so please contact me soon. You may use the tear sheet on this letter to indicate your interest. Summer Prekindergarten! Families of incoming kindergartners who have not taken advantage of the state’s free Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) Program should consider enrolling their child in this summer’s program. Studies have shown that students who attend VPK generally do significantly better in kindergarten than students who did not participate in VPK. The summer program will operate 4- days per week, generally Monday through Thursday, beginning Monday, June 14, to Thursday, August 5. The program will be closed on Monday, July 5 and open on Friday, July 9. School hours are scheduled for 7:37 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.. Breakfast and lunch will be free. Transportation will not be provided To participate, a child must: be 5 years-old on or before September 1, 2010; be a resident of Volusia County; and have a current, valid summer 2010 certificate of eligibility from the Early Learning Coalition of Flagler and Volusia Counties – (386) 323-2400, (386) 736-5010 or (386) 481-8576 or www.elcfv.org Contact the school’s office to schedule an appointment to complete a registration.
