We determ<strong>in</strong>ed three categories of <strong>in</strong>formation for each species: 1) how many site records<br />
fell with<strong>in</strong> PAs; 2) <strong>in</strong> how many different PAs each species was recorded; and 3) <strong>in</strong> how<br />
many PAs greater than 1000 ha each species was recorded. We were especially <strong>in</strong>terested <strong>in</strong><br />
determ<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g which species had obviously larger or smaller percentages of their site records<br />
fall<strong>in</strong>g with<strong>in</strong> PAs and if the species <strong>in</strong> each shared common characteristics. Hence, we<br />
listed the species with<strong>in</strong> the “high” and “low” reservation categories for each group and<br />
noted for each their broad location with<strong>in</strong> Australia and their known broad habitat<br />
preferences. The ma<strong>in</strong> sources of <strong>in</strong>formation used <strong>in</strong> the assessment of each of the groups<br />
are listed below:<br />
