Non-passerine (marine birds removed)
Birds in general represent the major number of vertebrate records available in the ANHAT
database. This is because of their high visibility and easy detection. The ANHAT database
has 3803290 records for 287 species and subspecies of non-passerines. Two species of nonpasserines
are considered extinct and therefore excluded from analysis. These species are
presented in Table 29.

Thirty two species account for approximately 50% of the total species records in ANHAT.
These species have over 30,000 records each, and, in the case of the Laughing Kookaburra
(Dacelo novaeguineae), over 113250 records.
