PALM DESERT, CA – October 25, 2014: Over 500 people came out to
support Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Desert at its 3rd annual Ramblin’
N Gamblin’ event on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Regency Ranch in
Rancho Mirage. The event raised a record-breaking $65,000 which will
help fund its one-to-one youth mentoring program which serves the entire
Coachella Valley.
The event drew over 500 guests who enjoyed the old west town of Regency
Ranch filled with mechanical bull rides, live music, line dancing,
casino tables, a paint-ball shooting gallery and food and refreshments from
The Slice, Maracas Restaurant, Roc’s Firehouse, Johnny Rockets, Nothing
Bundt Cakes and more. A special car drawing was sponsored by Crystal
Chrysler for a 2015 Jeep Cherokee Sport with winner Mary Levine announced.
Attendees included Tricia Solomon Eppelheimer, Peter Solomon,
George and Sue Velarde, Bob Iglehart, David Suss and Sue Rappaport,

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Desert has provided its one-to-one mentoring
program to Coachella Valley America for over 17 years. The Big Brothers
Big Sisters program is the leader in one-to-one youth service, developing
positive relationships that have a direct and lasting impact on the lives
of young people.
“This event has surpassed our goals and grown so quickly in just three
years.” said Judy Tobin May, Executive Director of Big Brothers, Big Sisters
of the Desert. “Everyone feels great after an evening like this because not
only did they walk away with great memories but the money raised goes
towards a much needed program which helps kids in our community.”
