Palm Springs, CA- The Palm Springs Gay Men’s Chorus (PSGMC) is ecstatic to announce its <strong>2014</strong>-2015 season of concerts<br />
that will appeal to a wide audience and is anticipated to sell out. This year’s holiday concert will have a retro feel. A Mid-<br />
Century Modern Holiday will bring to life festive Christmas and Hanukkah favorites along with a few musical and staging<br />
surprises. There will be two shows, one on December 13 at 8:00p.m. with a matinee Sunday, December 14 at 3:00p.m.<br />
Bringing the hit songs of ABBA to the desert seemed like a natural fit. ExtrABBAganza will be in two performances only<br />
Saturday, April 25 at 8:00p.m. and Sunday, April 26 at 3:00p.m. The <strong>2014</strong>-2015 season concerts will be at the Temple Isaiah<br />
332 West Alejo Road in Palm Springs.<br />
Season tickets are now on sale with individual tickets going on sale <strong>November</strong> 1, <strong>2014</strong>.<br />
“When we developed the programming for this season, we carefully selected concerts that<br />
would reflect the essence of Palm Springs. I believe we really hit the mark with A Mid-Century<br />
Modern Holiday and ExtrABBAganza. The chorus is also proud to be involved with so many<br />
civic and charity events throughout the year, we look forward to showcasing the talents of our<br />
“Chorus Like No Other,” remarked Douglas Wilson, Artistic Director, PSGMC.<br />
A Mid-Century Modern Holiday<br />
Remember aluminum Christmas trees and color wheels, groundbreaking architects Albert Frey<br />
and Donald Wexler or the beautiful sounds of Sinatra and Elvis? The Palm Springs Gay Men’s<br />
Chorus will take you on a journey through the mid-century modern era. Wonderful holiday hits,<br />
“Walking in a Winter Wonderland”, “I’ll Be Home for Christmas”, “Santa Bring My Baby Back to<br />
Me” and “Santa Claus is Back in Town”. This unique holiday program will also include “Mele Kalikimaka”<br />
and “Silver Bells” and Hanukkah favorites “S’vivon” and “Hanukkah Oh Hanukkah”. We will<br />
introduce our new small ensembles, The Arrangement and Vocal Harmonics.<br />
ExtrABBAganza<br />
The Swedish pop group, ABBA, topped the music charts from 1975 – 1982. Their music found<br />
new life in movie musicals, “Muriel’s Wedding” and “Priscilla, Queen of the Desert” and the<br />
smash Broadway musical, “Mamma Mia!” The Palm Springs Gay Men’s Chorus will perform a<br />
long list of ABBA’s hits, “Super Trouper”, “One of Us, Fernando”, “Take a Chance on Me”, “Lay All<br />
Your Love On Me”, “Waterloo”, “Voulez Vous”, “The Winner Takes It All”, “Gimme, Gimme, Gimme”,<br />
“Thank You for the Music” and of course, “Mamma Mia” and “Dancing Queen”.<br />

Festival of Lights Parade (Saturday, December 6 – Marching/Singing in the Parade)<br />
