The wonderful world of gala's, art exhibitions,
fundraisers and more are back here in our
very own "Valley Of The Arts". The latest
artists' reception was fantastic at Archangel
Gallery. The exhibition was titled "Priority
Male", which featured photography, paintings,
and charcoals by artists Eduardo Carriazo,
Michael Childers, McGarren Flack, Brian Kelly
and Dan Pyle. This is a masterful collection of
beautiful male nudes with muscular anatomy
captured in many forms, expressing the nude
male with integrity and beauty. The show was
really a smash and a lot of fun, with so many
in attendance!
Another fabulous gala was the fund raiser
for the Palm Springs Animal Shelter and the
6th Annual Casual Concours, and the Palm
Springs Classic Car Show, held at the Desert
Princess Country Club . For an admission
price of $10, the event offered the opportunity
to view over 100 classic and exotic cars.
Proceeds from the event benefited the Palm
Springs Animal Shelter and included an
on-site Animal Adoption Clinic and "Canine
Cruise-In Dog Show". Whether you are a pet
lover, a car lover, or both, this event was a fun
and inexpensive way to support a worthwhile
local cause, while enjoying the artistry of
rare and vintage automobiles from the 1940's
to today. The LON MICHELS GALLERY
was honored to be a part of this event, not
only with Lon's vintage 1959 Ford Gallexy
Fairlane, but also to contribute donations to
this wonderful event. A big thank you goes
out to the Desert Princess for use of the golf
course, all the volunteers, and Mc Cormick's
Palm Springs Collector Car Auction. This is
the place where we purchased Lon's beautiful
vintage car he named "Miss Corral".
Lon's latest Master Class was a smashing
success, with beautiful ladies in attendance.
One of the participants was our very own Juli
Ragsdale, publisher of LIVE Magazine. The
amazing magic through art and mentorship
by Lon was brilliant and is something that
will change a person's life for the better. The
amount of things to do this season is mind
blowing. Our amazing community coming
together to help others is right on the front
burner. Please support local business and
help create jobs right here in the "Valley Of
The Arts". The job you save or create buy
purchasing locally, might just be your own, or
your neighbors.
