PALM SPRINGS – Stonewall Gardens, Palm<br />
Springs’ first senior assisted living village for<br />
the LGBT community and friends, is assembling<br />
its team. Operated by Northstar Senior<br />
Living, one of the premier providers of senior<br />
living in the country, the 24-unit community is<br />
scheduled to open in the burgeoning Uptown<br />
neighborhood of Palm Springs in September<br />
<strong>2014</strong>.<br />
Dee Wieringa, named the community’s<br />
Executive Director/Administrator, has more<br />
than a decade of progressively responsible<br />
leadership experience in senior living administration.<br />
“In her role as Executive Director/Administrator,<br />
Dee will oversee all key functions<br />
essential to launching and managing the<br />
community,” explained Steven Kregel, Chief<br />
Operating Officer at Northstar Senior Living.<br />
Her responsibilities include operations,<br />
sales and marketing, staffing, licensing, and<br />
inventory. I have no doubt that under Dee’s<br />
leadership, Stonewall Gardens will provide<br />
a superior level of service and care to our<br />
patients and families.”<br />

initially – at least long enough to design a delightful<br />
assortment of scrumptious menu items<br />
for its lucky residents – is celebrity chef to the<br />
stars, Dave Silberkleit.<br />
At Stonewall Gardens, Chef Silberkleit will<br />
design menus with exciting, creative, and innovative<br />
selections that are as healthy as they<br />
are delicious.<br />
Originally built as a 1950’s bungalow style<br />
resort, Stonewall Gardens will offer stylish<br />
midcentury modern design, beautiful desert<br />
landscaping, and serene water features. Located<br />
close to shopping, restaurants, and entertainment<br />
venues for music and art, the campus will<br />
consist of two one-bedroom apartments, two<br />
shared apartments, and 20 deluxe studios.<br />
Entrance fees for Stonewall Gardens start at<br />
$3,000, and monthly fees begin at $3,850 based<br />
on the level of care required for each resident.<br />
Reservations/deposits are currently being<br />
accepted and a model is expected to open for<br />
tours in mid-August <strong>2014</strong>.<br />
