Hawaii Section Chair
Aloha again! I just returned from the Hawaii Section AWWA
workshop held on Kauai. I have been able to attend all three
workshops and can report there was good turnout for these
well-structured, interesting and informative presentations no matter
what your discipline. For those of you who were unable to attend, I
assure you that you missed three very good workshops. Roy Silva has
done one great job, especially for someone who is new to the Section.
The nominations for the next slate of Section Officers should appear in
this newsletter. I know that you will lend your support to the new
officers for the Hawaii Section 2006/2007 year.
Speaking of the newsletter, I must mention the outstanding job that
Julie McKee and her committee has done with the prior two issues.
Publishing a newsletter is not an easy job, and since Julie is a volunteer
it must be a labor of love.
Dawn Barsana, the Committee Chair for the Annual Conference, has
everything well in hand as usual. As this conference is our largest local
activity each year as well as the biggest ways and means function for
the section, we will need all of your support by attending.
Eddie Doi, the Membership Committee Chair, is now also on the National
Membership Committee and has reported his first trip to attend
the meeting in Puerto Rico to be a big success. Eddie has been working
very hard the last few years on keeping our membership strong.

Our next Board Meeting will be 10:00 am on Friday, March 17th at the
Honolulu Board of Water Supply.
