Dear Readers,
Thanks! For your overwhelming response to our first issue.
We are featuring yet another interesting & informative
reading material for you in this issue. As you are aware that
generally, the first hour of a sitting of our Lok Sabha is devoted
to the Questions and this hour is called the Question Hour. It
has a special significance in the proceedings of the Parliament.
Asking of questions is an inherent and unfettered parliamentary
right of members. It is during the Question Hour that the
members can ask questions on every aspect of administration
and Governmental activity. Government policies in national
as well as international spheres come into sharp focus as the
members try to elicit pertinent information during the Question
Hour.
Through the Question Hour the Government is able to quickly
feel the pulse of the nation and adapt its policies and actions
accordingly. It is through questions in the Parliament that the
Government remains in touch with the people in as much as
members are enabled thereby to ventilate the grievances of the
public in matters concerning the administration.
In this feature we have selected a few questions & answers that
were addressed in Fifteenth Lok Sabha with the Ministry of
Health & family welfare which can be specifically interest all
our fellow members.
In continuation to our series of information in our last issue
of newsletter, we are once again sharing the Pharmacopoeial
Standards of yet another very famous ayurvedic formulation
called Ashokarishta. This piece of information has been derived
from API part II. We have also included a few herbs with its
standards, as a part of raw material in the manufacturing of
Ashokarishta for the benefit of manufacturers of the same.
Besides this, an important Government order, for maintaining
the records of raw material used by manufacturing units is
given for your perusal, information & compliance please. Hope
you will find it useful too. A few glimpses from Centenary
Celebrations of All India Ayurvedic Congress is also enclosed
for your viewing.
