All India Ayurvedic Congress Observed Its Centenary
Celebrations
The All India Ayurvedic Congress (AIAC) celebrated its centenary from October 6 to October 8, 2009
Hon’ble President Pratibha Devisingh Patil inaugurated the celebrations in Sri Fort Auditorium, New Delhi on this day.
Also gracing the celebrations were Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi Smt. Shiela Dixit, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Bihar Mr. Nitish Kumar,
Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, spiritual guru Shri Shri Ravi Shankar and philosopher Deepak
Chopra.
Articles on various aspects of Ayurveda and allied subjects were exhibited at the celebration.
These included articles on herbal plants with medicinal properties, including their derivatives, manufactured medicines with machinery,
equipments and accessory, research work progress besides educational books and manuscripts.
Articles on Ayurveda in foreign countries, utility of computer in Ayurveda, Ayurveda and its utility applied to tourism, Panch-Karma
appliances and equipment were also exhibited.
Established in 1907, the Ayurveda Congress has been working for the protection, propagation and promotion of the eternal science of
Ayurveda since the very beginning of 20th century through branches spread all over India.
