Suitable Work Penalty Provision<br />

• An <strong>employee</strong> who refuses to seek<br />

suitable work, or refuses to or neglects<br />

to work after suitable work is offered<br />

to or arranged for him, is not entitled to compensation<br />

benefits.<br />

• Only OWCP <strong>may</strong> make a suitability determination that can<br />

result in terminating compensation benefits if claimant<br />

refuses job.<br />

• <strong>The</strong> <strong>employee</strong> remains entitled to medical benefits only.<br />

• Penalty also bars a schedule award for period after<br />

termination based on refusal of suitable employment.
