Antrim Policing Plan Objective Performance Indicator Target 1. In partnership with the community and other agencies, to make communities and neighbourhoods safe and feel safe 1.4 The availability of illegal drugs. 1.5 The number of incidents of anti-social behaviour 1.4.1 To report to the DPP on the number of arrests, searches and seizures of illegal drugs 1.5.2 To increase the number of non-offence reports issued by 5% (1) 1.5.3 To increase the number of alcohol seizures by 10%. To continue to build, broaden and sustain confidence in the police 2.1 The percentage of people who are confident in the police service’s ability to provide a professional day-to-day policing service for all the people of Northern Ireland. 2.1.2 To increase the number of call backs made to members of the public by 25% (6) 2.4 The percentage of recorded crimes cleared. 2.4.1 To increase the clearance rate by 3% pts. 3. To ensure that Policing with the Community is at the core of delivery of the policing service 3.1 Implementation of the five principles of Policing with the Community: • Service delivery • Partnership • Problem solving • Empowerment • Accountability 3.1.3 To ensure that Neighbourhood Officers work at least 80% of their duty hours on neighbourhood policing duties. 3.1.4 To monitor the number of hours of beat patrols carried out by the Neighbourhood Policing Team members and establish a baseline for Quarter two. 6
Footnotes 1. A ‘non-offence report’ is generated by police when they encounter anti-social behaviour. A baseline for non-offence reports has been established in the 2008/2009 year and will be the point from which the 5% increase will be measured. 2. One container refers to one seizure and base line against performance for the 2007/2008 year. 3. A base line for the number of preliminary breath tests will be drawn from the performance for the area in the 2007/2008 year. 4. Targets will be measured against performance in 2008/09 5.
