The staff of the Office of <strong>International</strong> <strong>Education</strong> <strong>and</strong> Development (OIED) shall be contacted as quickly as possible in the<br />
event of an emergency involving:<br />
1. Serious illness, injury or death;<br />
2. Emotional or psychological stress, which requires professional attention;<br />
3. Being the victim of a crime: theft, assault, rape, harassment, etc. or being accused of committing a crime;<br />
4. In-country crisis, i.e. political uprising or a natural disaster.<br />
Please download, print, read <strong>and</strong> take with you on the program “The Appalachian <strong>International</strong> Crisis Management<br />
Protocols” (Appalachian-ICMP) posted on the OIED website at: http://international.appstate.edu/crisis for step-by-step<br />
procedures to follow in the event of an emergency involving Appalachian State University students <strong>and</strong>/or personnel.<br />
