PROFESSIONAL CONTRACTUAL SERVICES<br />

The category <strong>of</strong> accounts designed as Pr<strong>of</strong>essional Contractual Services includes accounts funded for<br />

payment <strong>of</strong> services that by their nature can be performed only by persons or firms with specialized skills<br />

and knowledge. Although a product may or may not result from the transaction, the primary reason for the<br />

purchase is the service provided.<br />

Included are services that support the various policy-making and managerial activities <strong>of</strong> the <strong>District</strong>,<br />

pr<strong>of</strong>essional services supporting various <strong>District</strong> facilities, and services that are not regarded as<br />

pr<strong>of</strong>essional but that require basic scientific knowledge or specialized skills. Expenditures related to routine<br />

building service functions are not included in any <strong>of</strong> these accounts. Excluded are expenditures for<br />

operation, maintenance and repair <strong>of</strong> equipment or facilities.<br />

620004 Security Contract Services: Pr<strong>of</strong>essional service contract for <strong>of</strong>f-duty security.<br />

620005 Life Scan Process (COP) Grant: Funds set aside for the purpose <strong>of</strong> automated<br />

booking system that will digitalize an <strong>of</strong>fender’s image, providing a mug shot that<br />

will be computer-generated and transmitted.<br />

620006 ALERTS: Expenditures for State contract for computer system.<br />

620010 Legal Services: Charges for the services <strong>of</strong> law firms or attorneys to represent or<br />

advise the <strong>District</strong> in matters relating to labor law, statutory compliance and union<br />

negotiation.<br />

620020 Annual Reports/Audit: Fees paid to outside auditors for the performance <strong>of</strong> the<br />

<strong>District</strong>’s financial annual audit.<br />

620025 Youth Education Program: Funds set aside for the MIGHTY ACORN project<br />

educational program.<br />

620026 Construction Services: Funds set aside for construction<br />

620040 General Consulting Services: Funds set aside for the acquisition <strong>of</strong> specialized<br />

skills from vendors with those capabilities.<br />

620050 Photographic Service/Supplies: Charges for purchases related to photographic<br />

equipment and supplies.<br />

620053 Restoration Intern Program: Hiring <strong>of</strong> interns for ecological management.<br />

620054 Volunteer Advertisements and Promotions: Volunteer Steward program,<br />

advertising and promotions.<br />

620055 Volunteer Resources Program: Expenditure for support <strong>of</strong> volunteer program.<br />

620056 Comfort Stations: Expenditures for toilet facilities<br />

620090 Other Pr<strong>of</strong>essional Services: Charges for general specialized services that are<br />

not part <strong>of</strong> the regular consulting services.<br />

620091 Advertising and Promotion: Expenditures for the publishing <strong>of</strong> <strong>District</strong> bids, and<br />

promotion <strong>of</strong> special events.<br />

620092 Armored Car Service: Expenditures for transportation provided by specially<br />

equipped vehicles to transfer currency from various <strong>District</strong> facilities to<br />

depositories.<br />

620095 Fed and <strong>County</strong> Planning & Research: Expenditures set aside for the <strong>District</strong>’s<br />

participation in the federal and <strong>Cook</strong> <strong>County</strong> planning and research program.<br />
