• Continue to participate in contract vegetation management including prescribed burns, herbicide,<br />
and brush removal<br />
• Resurface walkway at Maple Lake between parking lot and pier<br />
• Restore shoreline at River Trail Nature Center<br />
• Dredge Maple Lake<br />
• Restore Ravine at Ted Stone<br />
• Poplar Creek Restoration<br />
• Repair and pave 6 gravel parking lots<br />
• Design and prepare plans for new maintenance road at River Oaks Golf Course<br />
• Maintain Watchman Resident Houses<br />
• Continue maintenance <strong>of</strong> Whealan Pool; maintain plumbing and mechanical infrastructure and<br />
painting<br />
• Develop plans for new Cold Storage Building at Tinley Creek<br />
• Replace 55 gallon garbage containers with dumpsters at all picnic shelters<br />
• Install Bird Nesting Structures to provide habitat for threatened bird species.<br />
• Design and install grove signage prototype at Eggers Grove<br />
• Sign remaining canoe landings along Des Plaines River<br />
• To complete prescribed burns at Busse Woods, Poplar Creek Fen, Deer Grove, Cap Sauers, Little<br />
Red Schoolhouse, Maple Lake, Swallow Cliff and Cranberry Slough, for a total <strong>of</strong> 3,403 acres<br />
managed by prescribed burning<br />
Planning Projects<br />
• Continued planning <strong>of</strong> bicycle trail and equestrian trail systems including; Cal-Sag Trail, Tinley<br />
Creek Trail Crestwood Connection, Spring Lake multi-use, Orland Grassland, North Branch horse<br />
trail underpass and Thorn Creek bicycle trail/horse trail underpass<br />
• Continue in Intergovernmental Partnerships with Neighborspace, CMAP (NIPC)<br />
and Chicago Wilderness.<br />
Land Acquisition<br />
• Pursue grants, donations and other strategies for land acquisition. Assist the<br />
Legal department in acquisition <strong>of</strong> various properties <strong>District</strong>wide<br />
