MAINTENANCE 2006 ACCOMPLISHMENTS<br />
• Liquidated excess antiquated equipment and vehicles by conducting sales on E-Bay.<br />
• Installed approximately two hundred (200) charcoal containers providing for a safer, more<br />
environmentally friendly picnic atmosphere for patrons.<br />
• Integrated approximately seven hundred (700) metal legged, less maintenance intensive picnic<br />
tables into groves.<br />
• Implemented <strong>District</strong>-wide usage <strong>of</strong> computerized fuel dispensing system to better monitor fuel<br />
usage for <strong>District</strong> vehicles and equipment.<br />
• Enhanced safety <strong>of</strong> one hundred eighty-four (184) drop gates by painting gates safety orange and<br />
installing reflective stickers on gates in addition to a 10-foot yellow diamond painted around each<br />
gate to alert cyclists.<br />
• Increased number <strong>of</strong> portable toilets and cleanings in heavily used picnic groves to better serve<br />
the needs <strong>of</strong> the public.<br />
MAINTENANCE <strong>2007</strong> GOALS<br />
• Enhance infrastructure maintenance through utilization <strong>of</strong> a vactor machine for cleaning catch<br />
basins and sewers in picnic groves.<br />
• Provide on-line in house training for mechanics servicing Ford, Sterling and International trucks.<br />
• Re-stripe all parking bays, including handicapped accessible spaces, and install new signage.<br />
• Implement CFA s<strong>of</strong>tware programs to better monitor parts inventory, equipment repairs, vehicle<br />
fuel usage and major fixed assets.<br />
• Continue liquidation <strong>of</strong> non-useful antiquated equipment through E-Bay or lot sales.<br />
