Biologists frequently play a pivotal role in dealing with various challenges that face society. Through studying the subject students are given the opportunity to develop their practical, reasoning, interpreting, evaluating and communication skills. Over the years the department has gained excellent Advanced Level results which have enabled students to pursue their chosen university courses. Possible Future Areas for Study ♦ ♦ ♦ Biology is a subject that opens doors to many career pathways including medicine, veterinary science, physiotherapy, radiography, marine science, sport science, nursing, environmental studies and teaching. Past students have been extremely successful in all the above fields and many are now employed locally due to their ability to converse fluently in both Welsh and English. Almost all universities offer courses associated with aspects of biology and students are advised to consider the options available to them early in the Advanced Level Course. Business Management | Marketing | Human Resources Business Yr 12 Yr 13 Why Study BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Business? ♦ ♦ ♦ The course is vocational and will introduce different aspects of the business world including the dynamic, changing and competitive environment in which businesses operate. The qualification provides learners with the skills, knowledge and information relevant to the business environment. It will develop a range of skills and techniques, personal skills and attributes essential for future employment. Business employers value employees who are able to communicate effectively both verbally and using ICT. The qualification provides opportunities for learners to develop their communication skills as they progress through the course. The qualification is equivalent to one A-Level over a period of two years. Possible Future Areas for Study ♦ ♦ The course prepares students for employment or employment in the business world. The qualification has also been designed so that learners can progress into Higher Education, for example to BTEC Higher Nationals and undergraduate business or similar subject degree qualifications.
