Why Study Drama?<br />

The course offers various experiences to students including<br />
the completion of practical projects based upon set pieces of<br />
drama and original devised work.<br />
Students will have the opportunity to develop a broad range<br />
of skills within the theatre including, performing, directing,<br />
design, creative writing as well as technical skills. There will<br />
also be an opportunity to experiment with technical skills<br />
when developing creative practical work.<br />
Visits and workshops lead by experts in various relevant fields<br />
are also arranged.<br />
Students are also expected to undertake research work by<br />
frequently visiting the theatre, reading a variety of plays and<br />
experiment when creating performances e.g use of site<br />
specific locations.<br />
By undertaking the study of drama students are expected to<br />
contribute to and support open evenings and productions.<br />
Students will study a variety of genres and practitioners<br />
including Artaud Brecht, Berkoff, Stanislavski and Theatre of<br />
the Absurd.<br />
