Several hundred seminars and outreach<br />

programs are offered each year on a<br />

wide range of topics such as resume<br />

or curriculum vitae writing, interview<br />

skills, job-search strategies. The locations<br />

of these programs are announced<br />

via the Daily Collegian, the web, and<br />

fliers. <strong>Career</strong> Services also collaborates<br />

with departments or graduate student<br />

organizations on programming efforts.<br />

Mock Interview Studio<br />

An in-house studio offers videotaped<br />

mock interview training to students who<br />

want to practice their skills and receive<br />

feedback on their performance. Mock<br />

interviews are available by appointment;<br />

speak to the staff assistant in the Bank<br />

of America <strong>Career</strong> Services Center to<br />

schedule a mock interview. The training<br />

center is open weekdays from 8:00 a.m.<br />

to 5:00 p.m.<br />

Nittany Lion <strong>Career</strong> Network<br />

Nittany Lion <strong>Career</strong> Network (NLCN)<br />

offers students the opportunity to review<br />

job postings, register for On-Campus<br />

Interviewing, and search employers<br />

attending our career fairs.<br />

Our online job posting service is available<br />

for you to look at full-time, internships,<br />

and part-time positions with<br />

employers who are specifically seeking<br />

<strong>Penn</strong> <strong>State</strong> candidates. Much like other<br />

online systems, Nittany Lion <strong>Career</strong><br />

Network allows you to maintain multiple<br />

versions of your resume, apply for positions<br />

online, and to keep a history of<br />

applications you have submitted through<br />

the system. Use of Nittany Lion <strong>Career</strong><br />

Network is free to all enrolled students.<br />

• On-Campus Interviewing<br />

The On-campus Interviewing system<br />

offers students the opportunity to interview<br />

with employers right on campus!<br />

This service is most advantageous for<br />

students who are graduating and looking<br />

for full-time employment after graduation.<br />

Many positions are offered in<br />

business, industry, and government and<br />

are for students with an interest and<br />

background in business and technical<br />

fields. Please note: there is a $15.00<br />

fee for participation in the On-Campus<br />

Interviewing portion of Nittany Lion<br />

<strong>Career</strong> Network. You must have the<br />

OCI option in order to request/schedule<br />

interviews with employers participating<br />

in on-campus interviews.<br />

• <strong>Career</strong> Fairs<br />

<strong>Career</strong> Fairs are held both in the fall<br />

and spring, giving graduate students an<br />

opportunity to connect with potential<br />

employers. Company representatives<br />

are available to talk to you about career<br />

options, specific job opportunities, as<br />

well as help you network with other<br />

recruiters within their organization<br />

who are seeking candidates with higher<br />

levels of academic preparation and<br />

experience.<br />

system allows you to maintain online<br />

<strong>Penn</strong> <strong>State</strong> students and alumni only.<br />
