ROUND 6 V GINNINDERRA<br />
Having been sent in Ginninderra made 121. A middle order collapse was brought about<br />
by Terry Grainger 2/27 and Mark Le Couteur 3/16,George Kondis and Kurt Plummer. took<br />
2 wickets each. In reply both Barney Devlin 67* and Bill Northam 59* showed devastating<br />
form in making 134 in 19 overs.<br />
ROUND 7 v WODEN<br />
This was a vital match for us. A win ment an equal top spot in the ladder. , Woden<br />
were sent in and only managed 89 runs off 47 overs. In reply we made 5 for 95 with<br />
Kurt Plummer making a well compiled 39 and Trevor Jones 27*<br />
ROUND 8 v A.N.U.<br />
Batting first ANU made 5 for 106 in their allotted 50 overs. This was due to some<br />
accurate bowling and tight fielding. Kojo took 2 for 7 off 10 overs. In reply Bill<br />
Northam and a promising junior, Andrew Macleod figured in a 74 run partnership.Bill<br />
Northam 51, batted sensibly to reach his second half century this season, and Andrew<br />
remained not out at 30. WCCC won by 4 wickets.<br />
ROUND 9 v TUGGERNONG<br />
For the 7th time in succession I won the toss and sent the opposition in to bat. We<br />
had that feeling that we were going to win this game. We bundled out the Tuggers<br />
for 55 in 22 overs. Andrew Morris 4/24, Terry Granger 2/15 and Mark Le Couteur cleared<br />
up with 3/3. With our total at 1/25 in 8 overs (Bill Northam 13*) rain came to<br />
deprive us victory.<br />
ROUND 10 v EASTS<br />
Winning the toss for the 8th time we sent Easts in to bat and for once we were put<br />
under pressure when they reached o/55 at the break. In the next 22 overs we took<br />
all ten wickets to dismiss Easts for 119. George Kondis 3/27, Andrew Morris 2/17<br />
Kurt Plummer 2/19 and Kojo Afabo 2/28. Once again rain put an end to our hopes.<br />
ROUND 11 v NORTHS<br />
Having lost the toss we were sent in. Northam and promising youngster Mark Jackson<br />
gave the team a great start with 67 before Mark was dismissed. Scott Evans 25, joined<br />
Northam to continue on in the same vein and after 25 overs WCCC were 3 for 124.<br />
In reaching a totlal of 5/277 in 45 overs Bill Northam scored a magnificent century<br />
(101) which included 7 fours and 2 sixes. Other highlights were Alex Simmons 58,including<br />
9 fours and 2 sixes and Andrew Morris 38*<br />
In reply Norths made 6 for 174 with Andrew Morris picking up 3 for 17.<br />
