The Bakken Area Program Management project, once completed, will boast<br />
165 miles of new transmission, 300 to 500 miles of distribution and nearly 30<br />
substations for Mountrail-Williams Electric Cooperative’s service area.<br />
HDR has been active in North Dakota<br />
for more than 40 years. From first<br />
opening its doors in Bismarck, ND, up<br />
through the 1990s, the company had performed<br />
much of its work for regional cooperatives<br />
within the state. It was during<br />
the 1990s, however, that HDR expanded<br />
its services to support utilities with transmission<br />
and distribution infrastructure<br />
build-outs.<br />
“Because we think global, yet act local,<br />
the expansive services we have provided for<br />
completed projects in more than 60 countries<br />
around the world are the same services that<br />
our clients in North Dakota can expect from<br />
us,” says Shoemaker.<br />
With offices in Bismarck (and plans to expand<br />
that location in the spring), Fargo and<br />
Minot, ND, HDR has more than 55 employees<br />
presently calling North Dakota home. As<br />
proud North Dakotans, these employees are<br />
intrinsically involved in their communities,<br />
through the support of charitable activities and<br />
volunteering with local organizations.<br />
